National College Football Day

The V Foundation for Cancer Research is proud to be the charitable beneficiary of National College Football Day, an event that honors the birth of college football, held annually on the first Saturday in November.

National College Football Day was created by the AT&T Cotton Bowl in 2003 as a way to pay tribute to a significant moment in our nation’s history. On November 6, 1869, Rutgers defeated Princeton , 6-4 in the first-ever college football game. More importantly, those college athletes left a lasting legacy that would evolve into the great spectacle of football.
