Jim Valvano's spirit lives on at The V Foundation. Our many event planners and volunteers across the country demonstrate his spirit and carry out The Foundation's mission by holding various types of fundraisers all over the country. Some of these grassroots events include basketball games, golf tournaments, formal galas, an individual participating in a triathlon, and many more - each as unique as the individuals who conduct them. Here at The V Foundation, we realize the hard work that goes into coordinating an event; we truly appreciate the effort and dedication that these individuals, groups and families extend to supporting our cause.

LoVin' Lemons Lemonade Stand

LoVin' Lemons are a produt of a summer camp at Annmarie Garden and Sculpture Park called "Not JUST a Lemonade Stand." Six children participated in the camp in which taught the kids about social responsibility and how through creative efforts and teamwork we can help others in need. The children choose the charity of their choice, design of the booth and all the marketing materials supervised by the teacher Oreen Cohen. The kids chose to donate to The V Foundation for Cancer Research because the camp's prior teacher Fritzy Seidler is currently in remission for breast cancer and they wanted to help in proactive efforts to find a cure for cancer. Although our contribution will estimate to about $200 it is not at all about the amount of money we raise but helping these kids understand the importance of community and togetherness.

The kids will be selling lemonade at two events both at Annmarie Garden, Maker's Market on August 7th and a Halloween Festival on October 24th, 2010. (Solomons, MD)

Willow Walk

Participants will walk approximately 2 miles around scenic Laishley Park. $10 registration fee per adult to be paid online @ www.firstgiving.com/willow13, in comment section please write "registration". Following the walk will be live music and holiday related arts & crafts for children. Onsite and online donations will be accepted. All donations go to the Jimmy V Stomach Cancer Fund.
