Boston College Hoops for Hope Fundraiser

BC Hoops for Hope is aiming to fulfill our mission of raising funds and awareness for The V Foundation for Cancer Research. Named after NCAA Basketball Coach Jimmy Valvano, the fund donates to help find a cure for a tragic disease that has effected us all.

The Chicago Sport and Social Club (CSSC) and Corona Extra are teaming up to support The V Foundation for Cancer Research with a fundraiser shooting to raise awareness and donations during the CSSC Winter 2016 Basketball leagues. CSSC and Corona Extra have made a pledge to jointly donate $1 for every 3-pointer made in the CSSC winter basketball season from February 1 – April (estimated 10,000). CSSC and Corona Extra are also inviting CSSC participants to join in the cause.

The William B. Wade Unified Basketball Team will be holding their 2nd annual charity game. We are proud to donate 100% of our proceeds to The V Foundation. Our team’s motto this year is, “Don’t give up, don’t give up.”

Bombers Rare Beer Experience

Bombers Beverage Company of Wilmington, N.C. will be providing the Cape Fear Region with a new quality rare beer event mid-May of 2016. The Bombers Rare Beer Experience will coincide with American Craft Beer Week. Tickets for the event are to go on sale in November of 2015 and will include commemorative stemmed ware, a tasting notebook, locally sourced finger food, and bottled water. .

The Inaugural Bombers Rare Beer Experience is being created to provide craft beer enthusiasts with the pinnacle of beer tasting experiences. Participating brewery representatives will pour rare beers in an intimate environment, allowing attendants the opportunity to learn what makes these beers so magnificent.

I Got SNAGGED for Jimmy V

“I Got SNAGGED 4 Jimmy V” is an interactive mini golf tournament along with a Chinese auction with prizes from local businesses. Participants play four holes of golf in hopes getting the best score and winning a trophy and prize. All profits from the event go directly to The V Foundation.

Helfrich-Falvey Charity Golf Outing

Charity golf outing in honor of Teresa Helfrich and Dennis Falvey, who died of cancer in 2009. The golf outing will take place at Heritage Hills golf course in York, PA and includes lunch, reception. Last year – $17k raised.

Dance to “Beat” Cancer

A concert tour at various venues in Wisconsin, including university campuses and nightclubs. A majority of ticket sales will go to the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research as well as the ability to make a donation either online or at the location.

13th Annual Jimmy V CYO Classic

4 day basketball tournament involving local CYO teams, attended by over 4000 people, DJ playing music, players being introduced before games, Spirit of Jimmy V medallions awarded to deserving player on each team, silent auction, raffles, concessions. Jimmy V speech plays non-stop for 4 days. We have over 100 volunteers from local high school teams.Cornerstone of event is that we make it very personal by recognizing and honoring local families that have been affected by cancer…this past year we recognized all survivors and surviving families by giving them an opportunity to speak prior to games. We have raised over $300,000 for cancer research with this event and other events that we sponsor. Our CYO Classic has become know locally as “4 Special Days”

Keep It Alive For Cancer

Participants (kids and adults) will keep a basketball dribbling from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., or for as long as they can, receiving pledge donations for each hour. Aaron Graff, 12 years old, will be having his Bar Mitzvah in April 2016 and this is his idea for his mitzvah project.
