All over the country, individuals, families and corporations dedicate enormous amounts of time and energy to move The Foundation closer to fulfilling Jim Valvano’s dream of finding a cure for cancer. These volunteers organize fun and inspiring fundraisers to spread awareness of The V Foundation’s mission. Some of these events include basketball games, golf tournaments, formal galas and many more – each as unique as the individuals who conduct them. We recognize the hard work that goes into coordinating an event and we truly appreciate the effort and dedication that these individuals, groups and families extend to supporting our cause.
2012 HR Management Conference
The event is a two day conference with the top HR professionals of companies throughout North Carolina. The proceeds will benefit The V Foundation.
Cowboys versus Cancer
Wyoming County basketball game to benefit cancer research through The V Founation. Wyoming will host Boise State that day at 2:00 pm.
2012 Pink Ribbon Invitational
USA gymnastics and AAU women’s gymnastics competition to raise funds for breast cancer.
6th Annual Battle for the Bell
Faculty members from both the high school and middle school will compete in a basketball game in which all donations and ticket sales go to The V Foundation for cancer research.
Uccello’s March Madness
Team members will donate $5 (per day) to wear jeans during their shift. Also, there will be a raffle for Uccello’s gift cards for donating $1.
Earthball- Delta Chi
8 foot ball played on a soccer style field, proceeds benefit The V Foundation.
2012 Charity Golf Outing – Secret Service Dallas
The golf outing will be hosted at Hackberry Creek Country Club in Irving, Texas. After a day of golfing, participants are invited to a silent auction. Participants will be provided lunch and dinner. Come join the fun – $125 per person to participate. Players/teams are encouraged to register before the day of the event. The Secret Service proudly welcomes Red Hot and Blue (Dallas) as their inaugural primary sponsor. All proceeds will benefit The V Foundation and the fight against cancer.
Miss Greek IU
A representative from each sorority will compete to become the first “Miss Greek IU” (talent, formal dress, donation amounts).
WPTV-6 Telethon
There will be a 14 hour telethon of live TV at a college TV station. All proceeds from donations and raffles go to charity.
Cadets Against Cancer- Fletcher’s Walk
To honor Coach Fletcher Arritt, there will be a 12 hour walk-a-thon that will be held on the Academy football field.
The 380 Companies Golf for The V Foundation
The second annual golf tournament will be hosted at Cedar Rapids Country Club. Along with a fun-filled day of golf, there will be a silent auction and program with special guest, Dick Vitale. Swinging Fore a Cure
A golf scramble in Madison, WI to be hosted at The Oaks Golf Course. The event consists of a 4-person scramble with on-course contests, gourmet dinner, silent auction and raffle opportunities. Former University of Wisconsin Men’s Basketball coach Dick Bennett will be the honorary guest. All net proceeds will go directly to support The V Foundation for Cancer Research
The Jeremy Noe Cancer Fighting Weekend
Local community and local bands fighting for a weekend of fighting cancer.
16th Annual JVL Open
This is a charity golf outing involving 50/50, raffles, and silent and live auctions.
The Joe-King Triathlon
Since 2004, The Joe-King Tiathlon has been a weekend of camaraderie, fun, and competition. Participants will be randomly paired into teams for the three events. The weekend will start with a Texas Hold’em Tournament on Friday night, a scramble golf tournament on Saturday, and then a three game bowling competition on Saturday as well. There will be an event raising funds for The V Foundation for Cancer Research.
Goals for Good
Goals For Good is a new charitable hockey competition. Each team in the ECAC has been partnered with a charity in close relationship to their school, team, and/or community. For Goals For Good’s inaugural campaign, Union College has chosen to partner with The V Foundation. Union College Hockey will raise money for The V Foundation by way of the goals that they score. Check out GoalsForGood.org to pledge per goal that Union will score this season.
Blow the Whistle on Cancer
This is the 4th annual Blow the Whistle on Cancer event hosted in Florence, KY. The 9th region Basketball Officials Association will use pink whistles during basketball games over a two week period to raise awareness and money for The V Foundation.
The V Foundation Showcase
There is a one day basketball showcase with 10 teams in the showcase. There will be five games going on that day.
