The Jimmy V Ride for Research has joined forces with the Cary Cycling Celebration to offer an exciting day of bicycle-friendly activities for beginner and experienced cyclists alike.  These tours take cyclists through the town of Cary and the surrounding community.  Cue sheets will be available at the packet pick-up and on the day of the ride. Join us on October 25, 2009 at Koka Booth Amphitheatre at Regency Park!

Jimmy V Commemorative Cycling Jersey

Registration Fee options:


Individual rider registering before October 11, 2009: $35 with $50 fundraising minimum
Individual rider registering after October 11, 2009 or on the day of the race: $50 with $50 fundraising minimum

Cary Cycling Celebration Bicycle Safety Rodeo (Ages 6-12)
Young cyclists learn the “rules of the road” and more as they complete the Cary Bicycle Rodeo.  Designed to instill cycling knowledge and confidence, the rodeo features simulations of real life situations likely to be encountered by young riders.  Stations like “Chaos Corners” and “Demon Driveway” will provide fun opportunities to improve skills and increase knowledge.  Get a bike safety inspection.  Register your bike with the Cary Police Department.  Properly fit your helmet.  Receive replacement bike helmets while they last.

Start Times: 1:00-3:30 PM (takes 1-1.5 hours to complete)

Registration: Free.  Participants are encouraged to pre-register through the Cary Parks Recreation and Cultural Resources Department

Symphony Lake Trail (All Ages)
This 1.2 mile paved loop around Symphony Lake is perfect for a short, enjoyable ride.

*By registering for The 2009 V Foundation Ride for Research, all claims against The V Foundation, Town of Cary, their sponsors and any personnel for any injury suffered in the event are hereby waived.  Full permission is given to The V Foundation to use photographs of participants in legitimate accounts and promotions of this event and other V Foundation promotional and fundraising materials.  While participating in these activities, all participants must agree to wear a helmet.  If the ride is cancelled due to inclement weather, participants must agree that their entry fee is considered a donation to The V Foundation and is not refundable.
