Dr. Lynn Matrisian is Professor and Chair of the Department of Cancer Biology and Ingram Professor of Cancer Research at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She received her B.S. in medical technology from Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania, and her Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of Arizona in Tucson. She was appointed to the faculty of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., following postdoctoral training in the Laboratory of Eukaryotic Molecular Genetics in Strasbourg, France. She is the Program Leader of the Host-Tumor Interaction Program at the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center and a member of the Integration Panel for the Department of Defense Breast Cancer Research Program. Dr. Matrisian has served as a member of the Pathology B NIH study section, on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Cancer Research, as an associated editor of several scientific conferences, and is a co-founder of the Protease Consortium. Her research interests revolve around the molecular mechanisms underlying tumor progression.
