The V Foundation Earns Seventh Consecutive 4-Star Rating by Charity Navigator The award places The V Foundation in the top 2% of rated charities
The V Foundation for Cancer Research, one of the nation’s leading cancer research fundraising organizations, has been awarded with their seventh consecutive 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s premier charity evaluator. The award illustrates The V Foundation’s ability to efficiently manage and grow its finances. In this competitive charitable marketplace, Charity Navigator highlights the fine work of efficient charities and provides donors with essential information needed to give them greater confidence in the charitable choices they make. Only 2% of the charities rated by Charity Navigator have received at least seven consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that The V Foundation consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way, and outperforms most other charities in America.
“It is an honor to receive our seventh consecutive 4-star evaluation from Charity Navigator,” said Nick Valvano, CEO of The V Foundation for Cancer Research. “Our donors are able to see that their money is being utilized in the most efficient way possible to advance cancer research.”
Charity Navigator currently attracts more visitors to their website than all other charity rating groups combined, and data has shown that users of their site gave more than they planned to before viewing Charity Navigator’s findings. It is estimated that they influenced over $10 billion in charitable gifts just last year.
“As the non-profit sector continues to grow at an unprecedented rate, donors are demanding more accountability, transparency, and quantifiable results from the charities they choose to support with their hard earned dollars” said Ken Berger, President and CEO of Charity Navigator. “The V Foundation continues to prove time and time again that they are one of the best charities out there in terms of their financial health.”

About The V Foundation for Cancer Research
The V Foundation for Cancer Research was founded in 1993 by ESPN and the late Jim Valvano, legendary North Carolina State basketball coach and ESPN commentator. Since 1993, The Foundation has raised more than $90 million to fund cancer research grants nationwide. It awards 100 percent of all direct cash donations and net proceeds of events directly to cancer research and related programs. The Foundation, which has received seven consecutive top 4-star ratings from Charity Navigator, awards grants through a competitive awards process strictly supervised by a Scientific Advisory Board.
