The V Foundation Awards $1 Million Grant to Research Cancers Affecting 9/11 First Responders

Queen of the Valley Awarded $500,000 Gift From The V Foundation for Cancer Research

NAPA, CA, JANUARY 31, 2013 –  Queen of the Valley Medical Center Foundation today announced the awarding of of a half-million dollar gift from The V Foundation for Cancer Research. The funds will support the clinical laboratory and pathology service in the hospital’s new Herman Family Pavilion, a state-of-the-art, 72,000-square-foot diagnostic and surgical pavilion, currently under construction. ESPN’s Sixth Jimmy V Week Sets Fundraising Record: Nearly $1.6 Million

ESPN’s sixth Jimmy V Week for Cancer Research set a fundraising record by generating nearly $1.6 million  ($1,591,108) in contributions for The V Foundation for Cancer Research during the month of December – surpassing the previous record of $1,301,530 set in 2011. In six years, Jimmy V Week has generated $6,761,437 in total contributions for The V Foundation for Cancer Research. ESPN Commits $1 Million to The V Foundation for Cancer Research

ESPN Executive Chairman George Bodenheimer announced today, as ESPN’s Jimmy V Week for Cancer Research begins, that ESPN has committed a donation of $1 million to The V Foundation for Cancer Research. The dollars are earmarked for The V Foundation’s endowment fund, which helps cover operating costs of the foundation, enabling 100 percent of cash donations to go directly to research.
