The V FoundationNick Valvano, Jim’s brother, has served as Chief Executive Officer of The V Foundation since March 1999 and has been a member of the Board of Directors since its inception. His dedication to The V Foundation shows his passion to fulfill Jim’s dream.
Valvano brought years of senior management and sales experience to The V Foundation through his work with Xerox, Wang and Olivetti. Valvano began his professional career in education, teaching and coaching high school basketball for 10 years.
Through his leadership, Valvano has established relationships with several cancer centers nationwide in fighting the war on the disease. By focusing on the need to raise money, Valvano has been instrumental in The V Foundation’s success in awarding more than $80 million in grants across 38 states.Valvano holds a B.S. in Business Administration and a M.A. in education from Rider University, where he played basketball.
Nick Valvano and his wife, Karen, currently reside in Cary, North Carolina.
