Geoffrey Mason is one of sports television’s most accomplished and honored production executives.  A 26-time Emmy Award winner (including one in each of the last five decades) he has more than 40 years of domestic and international broadcast experience. 

Before working for ESPN, Mason was Executive Producer at ABC Sports, where his credits include seven Olympic Games (Summer and Winter,)  Monday Night Football (Super Bowl XXV), Major League Baseball (World Series 1989), US Open/PGA/British Open Golf, Triple Crown Horse Racing, Indianapolis 500, ABC’s Wide World of Sports, and Tour de France. 

Mason joined ESPN in 1995, overseeing (as Executive Producer) the production and direction of all of the network’s international programming. 

His present role is as Senior Production Specialist for ESPN, where he is assigned to a wide variety of major productions.  He is also the Head of Production Planning for the FIFA World Cup Brazil in 2014, and the UEFA European Championships 2012 this summer in Poland/Ukraine. 

He also helped, in 2003, launch the NFL Network in Culver City, California. 

On December 14, 2010, Mr. Mason was inducted into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame. 

He served for 22 years on the Board of Directors at the Betty Ford Center, and is a founding board member for The V Foundation for Cancer Research. 

Mason graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in 1963.  He and his wife Chris reside in the Naples, Florida area.
