Dereck Whittenburg is a sports commentator at ESPN. Previously, he was at the helm at Fordham after serving as the head men's basketball coach at Wagner College from 1999-2003. Whittenburg was a starting guard on Jim Valvano’s 1983 NCAA Basketball Championship team at NC State University. After graduating in 1984, Coach Whittenburg began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, and held positions as Assistant Coach at West Virginia, Georgia Tech, Long Beach State and George Mason Universities.
